Successful Marketers Know This One Life-Changing Tip

Let me set the stage if you will.

You’re sick and tired of working for someone who doesn’t appreciate you. You’re tired of not making the money you feel you deserve…so you have an idea. You think to yourself, “Maybe there’s a way to make money online.”

You get online, you start doing some research. You start looking at forums, websites, message boards. You take notes, you reach out to people and you peruse products.

But most (if not all) of these products have the same message:

“Make Money Online with as Little Work as Possible.”

So you have high hopes, you invest money. You scour the product over and over again. You get excited. You get motivated. You get focused.

You apply what you learn….and?

You have absolutely nothing to show for it.

No money, no progress, no results…only wasted time.

You start asking yourself, “There’s got to be something I’m missing. What the hell are these guys doing to make all this money that I’m not?”

Well, I’m here to tell you the answer. Are you ready? Read/listen closely…

They are making money because they are selling you THEIR product.

I ask that you read that above sentence again. Because it is truth. It is justice. It is law. (I like being dramatic).

So the question still remains, “What am I doing wrong?”

My dear readers, the above sentence is answering that question for you.

You see, nearly all of these product are promoting these generic, “Get Rich. Make Money Overnight. Work From Home” piles of steamy dookie that you’ve been researching and studying so diligently. I’m here to tell you that you’re going about it the wrong way.

So what are successful marketers doing?

For starters, they aren’t just selling you a product promising you the world. They aren’t just selling you a product that says you can make money easily and quickly. What they are doing is offering you a solution.

Here’s the life-changing tip:

It doesn’t matter what product or offer you’re promoting if you have nobody to see it.

Let’s face it, you’ve probably spent hundreds (or in my case, thousands) of dollars on information products and systems to only be left with wondering how the hell you’re going to make money with it.

So the question isn’t, “What am I doing wrong?”

The question should be, “What can I do to sell my stuff!?”

For starters, you need to find a viable means of traffic. But more importantly, you want that traffic to turn into leads. Why? Because Leads = Sales.

You could have an unlimited amount of traffic coming to your offer, but if the quality of traffic sucks, your results are going to equally suck.

There are so many products out there to try to show you a quick way to make money online but at the end of the day, you won’t make squat if you can’t get a lead. This was a revelation I had when I was struggling online.

The fact of the matter is this. It doesn’t matter what product you’re marketing (providing it’s ethical and legitimate). If you can find a way to drive traffic to that offer; traffic that converts into leads. You WILL make money.

With that said, I want to go out on a limb and guess you’re still struggling with traffic.

    • You’re right, Allen. It DOES take money to make money, there’s no doubt.

      At the end of the day though, when you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to get it.

  2. Hey Doug,

    Although I definitely agree with you that what people should do in order to have success is promote their own product, I do know people who are successful just being affiliates. Not many of course but the majority do have their own product.

    I know for a lot of people though just starting out they aren’t quite sure they know enough to create their own but I think as they learn and grow they’ll figure it out. I created my first product probably about five or six years ago now and I was extremely proud of myself. Of course I didn’t know that much about marketing or getting traffic so although I sold a handful of them and my customers were very happy with it I went nowhere with it quickly.

    My second one did really well too and although I didn’t personally create it, it was mine to promote and call my own. That one ran it’s course because we all know that a lot of what we’ve created when it comes to getting traffic and such changes.

    I’m on my third one now, I’m in the process of creating it and I know it will do very well. Getting traffic to your site isn’t as hard as some people make it out to be but nothing happens overnight. Everything takes time but if you know this is where you’re suppose to be then be consistent in your actions and you’ll get the results.

      I always welcome your feedback! I just recently started getting back into blogging after exploring many different aspects of marketing online. Honestly though? My passion isn’t selling affiliate products, it’s helping people; much like you do!

      You hit the nail on the head when you said getting traffic isn’t as hard as one would think. In fact, the process is so simple. It just takes a little persistence and time. You’ve branded yourself around this entire concept. Your blog gets more comments and reader interaction than most blogs I’ve seen. If people just took some time to read what you teach, they’d see that the possibilities are right under their nose.

      Great work on your third product! I’ve been working on one myself, but so far I have a few personal (and professional) goals I want to achieve before completing it.
