Going to Jail For BBQ Ribs

So get this… I’m at the grocery store with my fiance’ right? We’re in the produce section looking at some fruits and veggies and this lady and her boyfriend/husband walk by with their cart. The husband is eating a bbq rib that he must have gotten from a free sample cart or something. Anyways, as he’s passing me…he’s finishing up the rib, polishing off the remaining meat… …then tosses it right into my shopping cart. What. The. @#$@. Are you freakin’ kidding me? So, being the kind hearted guy I am…I wanted to shove the rib somewhere where the sun don’t shine. Naturally, this would have caused the “man” to get angry and it would have resulted in a potential altercation. Thankfully my fiance’ grabbed me by the arm and talked sense into me before things became physical. I could have possibly gone to jail over a BBQ rib. And it got me thinking. When we start out as internet marketers, we look for those free samples all over; those “bbq ribs” so to speak. And when we get them, we may pick the bones clean…but some people will just toss it out wherever they please. These people? Aren’t going anywhere. They are going to be unhappy for and unfulfilled for the rest of their lives until they can snap out of their crappy attitude. My Top Tier Business isn’t a free sample, but I can tell you that for the price, it definitely fills you up. What is your biggest reason for not getting it yet? I’ve been offering over $500 in free bonuses for a $50 investment. If $50 is too much for you? Then you may as well...

The “Now” Generation

Whether you like it or not, the 18-35 year old’s are what I call “The Now Generation”. And before you gather your own assumptions of what this post is about, or if you’re getting ready to assume that I’m about to start bashing this generation, remember that I also fall into this generation. So I do have a little experience in the matter. 😛 This new generation are what I like to call “technology natives”. We grew up with technology. Whether it being the older half of the generation; growing up with Atari and the birth of cable. Or the younger half of the generation; growing up with texting and highspeed internet. The fact of the matter is we were born into this world with the idea that we can get what we want, when we want it; quickly. If you’re part of the Now generation, I’m willing to wager you’ve already made a couple purchases online. I’m also willing to bet that you most likely used social media to invite your friends to the last party you orchestrated. In fact, how many conversations have we had (or heard) where it went something like this: Friend 1: Hey man! I didn’t see you at my birthday party last Saturday, what happened? Friend 2: What? I didn’t realize you were having a party! Why didn’t you tell me? Friend 1: I did! I sent you the invite on Facebook, didn’t you get it? As funny as that is, it’s a sad truth. Our generation lives in a time where social awareness and “what we need” are based off of how...

5 Things You Should Ask Yourself When Starting An Online Business

“Starting an online business.” Something many of you have thoughts abut at one point in time. Chances are the reason you’re reading this is because you’ve been thinking of starting one soon. But starting an online business isn’t all peas and carrots. (or candy and cake, whichever metaphor suits you.) It’s not a decision you should take lightly. Whether you want to start internet marketing or start an e-store selling merchandise, there are a few things you really need to ask yourself. Questions to Ask Yourself When Starting An Online Business: 1.) Are you passionate about WHAT your business is about? Look, if you’re not passionate about the reason you’re starting a business online; or the product you’re marketing…then you’re going to fall flat on your ass. The fact is you need to believe in your business before trying to get other people to believe in your business. 2.) Are you passionate about WHY you’re starting an online business? Just as you need to be passionate about whatever you’re promoting and marketing…even more importantly you need to be passionate about your “why”. If you’re starting a business just to make money…guess what? You’re not going to make any money. You need to find a burning desire as to why you’re starting up and it cannot just be for monetary gain. Perhaps you’re trying to take care of your family and friends? Perhaps it’s merely a vehicle to fund another project you’re passionate about. For me? It’s to make sure my future bride (November 16th of this year I’m getting married) and my children are taken care of. I want to...

Why Do People Stay Broke?

You know, people make me laugh sometimes. Especially when I read posts about people not having enough money or when someone complains that the “rich are getting richer.” It’s crap. All crap. There’s an age old argument on whether people buy out of necessity or out of desire. My opinion? We decide to buy out of desire and justify our decision out of logic and necessity. Think about it. What do we as a people really “need”? When you boil it down, we really only need 3 things. Food/Water. Shelter. Companionship Those three things are really the only things we need to survive. We may think we need a car…but we really don’t “need” a car. There are other methods of transportation. We may say the groceries we are buying are out of necessity, but we aren’t really buying what we “need” we are buying what we think tastes good. Sure, when you’re on a budget you’re not going to buy fillet mignon, but you’re still buying what you “want” within your budget. This ties into why I get so frustrated with people who say “I don’t have any money.” Really? Yet you can post on Facebook about the restaurant you just checked into? You can upload the latest food dish you just bought? Or post about the 6 dollar cup of coffee you just bought at Starbucks? The fact of the matter is YOU can create wealth if you just know how. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not Mr. Moneybags. But I DO understand the concept of creating money when I need it. It just...

How to Make Money Without Spending a Dime

Alright, so let me be clear right off the bat. Let’s get a few facts straight. YES, you CAN make money online without spending a dime. NO, you CANNOT make millions online without spending a dime. YES, it DOES take a lot longer than you would with paid traffic. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s begin. In order for you to make money online without spending a dime, you’re going to need a few things. 1.) You’re going to need access to a free affiliate program. 2.) You’re going to need a method of free traffic. 3.) You’re going to need a method of free marketing. I’m going to explain how to obtain all three of those…and I’m not gonna ask you for a dime! 😛 Free Affiliate Programs The great news for you is there are LOADS of affiliate programs out there. In fact, all you need to really do is set up a Clickbank account and you’ll soon realize there are quite literally 100’s of thousands of products you can sell without spending any money to sign up. The only downside to all of this is finding a credible one that actually does a good job selling. I’d be pretty silly if I didn’t give you a link to an affiliate program I’ve been using (and making money with). http://ctrl-alt-success.com/marketing/free-affiliate-signup You can sign up as a free affiliate and start making money with it right away. Free Traffic There are multiple ways to get free traffic. For starters, having your own blog will help greatly. Having a blog allows you to reach out...

Why Han Solo Sets a Good Example

Zig Ziglar said it best. “You will get all you want in life if you help enough people get what they want.” As silly as it sounds, this quote makes me think about Han Solo in Star Wars. Now, if you’ve never seen Star Wars before…shame on you. Anyways, Han Solo was a smuggler. He lived his life prioritizing himself and no one else. He would do whatever job came along his way as long as the pay was good enough. Ultimately, Han Solo was a selfish jerk. He was living a dangerous life of crime, evading bounty hunters and law enforcement. It wasn’t until his chance encounter with Obi Wan and Luke Skywalker that he helped crumble the Empire and become a legend. Why is that? He helped people. Luke and Obi Wan needed help. Solo reluctantly agreed. In doing so, a series of events transpired that ultimately turned Han’s life upside and inside out. In most cases, for the better. Sure, he had a lot of pain, heartache and loss…but look at what he was able to accomplish by just making a decision? Too many times we decide to focus on ourselves. Sometimes, it works to our benefit. You have your successful sales guy who rarely tries to “help” his team because he wants to be number one. You have successful marketers who won’t share where they are getting their leads and traffic from. Or how they are promoting their product. You even have friends who withhold information from you because it gives them an “upper hand”. What I’ve found though, are the people who genuinely care...

Why “Dexter” Should Be An Email Marketer

I personally don’t have cable. It’s much too distracting. (hint hint) But I do enjoy catching up on certain shows online. One of my favorite TV shows is a show called “Dexter”. It’s about a serial killer who only kills other serial killers. I mean, come on! That right there should make you wanna watch it! lol Anyways, in this TV show, Dexter has a “code” that he follows. He has accepted the fact that he’s a killer, but he knows how to control his “urges” by focusing them on the “bad guys”. So although he’s kind of a bad guy himself, he’s still able to do  a little “good” by killing off the scum of Miami with his expertise in..well, murder. lol So it got me thinking… What makes Dexter so successful? What makes him able to never get caught? And it dawned on me… his “code” is very similar to what successful email marketers use. For starters, Dexter has an Avatar that he “markets” to. (AKA – That he goes after.) He goes after other murderers. Successful email marketers have an avatar they market to. Their avatar may be people trying to lose weight who are between the ages of 45-55 who have a heart condition. Maybe their avatar is a male college student between the ages of 20-24 who are studying business to go into business for themselves. It doesn’t matter what the avatar is. As long as it caters to the product you’re trying to market. What DOES matter is that you have an avatar. If you don’t have one, then you have no idea how to communicate effectively to your audience. For example, if...

5 Ways I Accelerated My Earnings

I’ve said it a couple times and I’ll say it again. I’ve made a bunch of mistakes. And I know I’ll still be making them. One of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made is that I over complicated everything. Every tip my mentors gave me, every piece of advice I heard in a book or at a conference. I just kept thinking to myself, “There’s gotta be something they aren’t telling me. Some kind of secret of trick they are holding back.” And who knows, that might be partially true. It wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I finally “got it.” It wasn’t a secret or a magic word or some spell I brewed in my magic cauldron. It was just a few shifts in mindset and a few principles that I had to work on. Here they are: 1. Always be consistent and persistent.  The fact is you never know what will work or what doesn’t if you quit before you’ve even had a chance to see what works. That was one of my biggest faults. I just gave up too easily. 2. Duplicate what other successful people are already doing. If you really want to go far, all you do is find the people who are where you want to be and duplicate what they’re doing. Remember, you are who you hang out with. 3. You have a lot more power than you think. And don’t let anyone tell you differently. Power simply means “the ability to act”. You just have to decide to use it. Power is like a muscle. The more action you take, the easier it gets. Science has proven this to...

You’re Not a Loser…Are You?

When I first started in IM, I tried so many offers, products and services to my list but was having little success. Infact, I was able to get a +50% opt-in for my list…but my conversions into sales of those subscribers were abysmal. Not to mention I started getting unsubscribes left and right. So I started thinking…what the hell was I doing wrong? So I started researching, talking to my mentors (success hint) and breaking down the process of what I was doing. It then occured to me. There are really only 5 reasons why people on my list are leaving…or not buying.  1. They Are Quitters  They’re like the people who go to the gym and work hard for 2 weeks; then quit because they didn’t see any results.  These people are not serious about their success. As a matter of fact I’m willing to wager that unless they get out of that mindset…they will be stuck in a job for the rest of their lives. Statistically, most people who stick around for longer than 90 days will be sticking around long term. And those who actually stick around???  …Make sales and CRAVE more information so they can make more.  And those who quit?  They do nothing with the info, make excuses and go back to their ordinary life of mediocrity.  2. They’re Freebie Seekers  This is the mark of a loser.  These people are unavoidable, they are who they are and if any of your offers are “free” or “giveaways”. You will attract them like flies on a turd.  3. I Haven’t Given Enough Value  In my...

Let’s Run Head On Into Traffic

I’m just touching on traffic. There will be more opportunity to learn more about traffic a little later. If you have no one on your list, you have no one looking at your emails…which means you aren’t selling squat. There are quite literally 100’s of 1,000’s of ways to generate traffic to your squeeze pages. You could start up a blog and build organic traffic over time. (which could be incredibly effective if you already have an established blog). You can create youtube videos of relevant topics in your industry and link your squeeze page in the description. There are so many more methods that I could create a book. (and some people even have) A question I get asked a lot is: “Where do you get most of your traffic?” I use solo ads. Essentially a solo ad is a way of advertising that puts you in complete control over how many people “see” your offer. You find someone selling a solo ad and you pay them based off of how many “clicks” you want. A “click” is when someone actually clicks your squeeze page link. So if you’re paying for 200 clicks, you’ll be getting 200+ unique people looking at your page. So if you convert 40% of those clicks into subscribers, that means you’re getting 80 fresh leads sent to your list. If you are converting sales at only 5%, you’re making 4 sales. Pretty cool, right? With that said, the best place to find solo vendors is safe-swaps.com. http://ctrl-alt-success.com/marketing/safe-swaps Think of it as “facebook for solo ads”. You can find solos to fit your budget, each vendor has a page of reviews from people who have purchased from them so you can...
