10 Myths About Making Money Online (Part 1)

10 Myths About Making Money Online (Part 1)

Over the next two articles, I wanted to cover 10 Myths About Making Money Online. I know I tend to be a little prejudice towards the Warriorforum… but seriously, when it comes to what NOT to do in internet marketing; it’s laden with perfect examples. These myths aren’t necessarily in any particular order. All of these myths, if truly believed to be fact; will help you never succeed in online marketing. So if never making a dime online floats your boat, by all means visit the Warriorforum and buy a few WSOs (like I did my first 9 months struggling to make any money). With that said, carry on my wayward son. There is peace when the reading’s done. Myth #1 – You Can Make Thousands of Dollars a Month Through Micro Niche Sites For those of you who aren’t familiar with what these are…be thankful. Here’s a summary of what a Micro Niche Site is: You find a niche. This niche could be for furniture for example. You then find a “sub-niche” around furniture. It could be a specific brand of furniture. Or perhaps furniture only made in a specific country, etc. You decide on your niche by doing research and factoring in what sites are ranked on the first page of Google for it. If the niche seems viable, you start building a site. So let’s say after researching, I came up with the micro niche of Stressless Furniture (I’m adding the manufacturer’s link here out of respect. They do make wonderful furniture lol). With that niche, I decide to make a quick blog site via wordpress with...
Successful Marketers Know This One Life-Changing Tip

Successful Marketers Know This One Life-Changing Tip

Let me set the stage if you will. You’re sick and tired of working for someone who doesn’t appreciate you. You’re tired of not making the money you feel you deserve…so you have an idea. You think to yourself, “Maybe there’s a way to make money online.” You get online, you start doing some research. You start looking at forums, websites, message boards. You take notes, you reach out to people and you peruse products. But most (if not all) of these products have the same message: “Make Money Online with as Little Work as Possible.” So you have high hopes, you invest money. You scour the product over and over again. You get excited. You get motivated. You get focused. You apply what you learn….and? You have absolutely nothing to show for it. No money, no progress, no results…only wasted time. You start asking yourself, “There’s got to be something I’m missing. What the hell are these guys doing to make all this money that I’m not?” Well, I’m here to tell you the answer. Are you ready? Read/listen closely… They are making money because they are selling you THEIR product. I ask that you read that above sentence again. Because it is truth. It is justice. It is law. (I like being dramatic). So the question still remains, “What am I doing wrong?” My dear readers, the above sentence is answering that question for you. You see, nearly all of these product are promoting these generic, “Get Rich. Make Money Overnight. Work From Home” piles of steamy dookie that you’ve been researching and studying so diligently. I’m...
Why Making Money Online With Email is a Load of Crap

Why Making Money Online With Email is a Load of Crap

Before I get a few people upset or confused with the title of this…allow me to explain. There are many people who have been lead to believe that all it takes to be successful is to find a product and have some people opt-in to their squeeze pages while their follow up sequence does all the work for them. …can we get any more lazy? Seriously, I could make a product that teaches you how to set up an autoresponder, promote a product and create a follow up series. Then sell it for $97+ and I’d be the ONLY one making money. First of all… What good is your product if the “traffic” you’re sending it to sucks a big fat one? How are people making money online with email? Let’s do a quick numbers game here… On average, when sending a broadcast to your email list, you’re going to have an average of a 2-5% open rate. What that means is for every 100 subscribers you send an email to, only 2-5 of them are going to actually open it. Furthermore, when it comes to a “click-through rate“. You’ll be lucky to get a 5-7% click through rate of those opened emails. What this means is that every email you have that has a link inside of it. For the people who opened it, only 5% of those people will actually click the link. Even further… An average conversion rate from a click to a sale is roughly 2% in the IM industry. (NOTE: These numbers aren’t 100% accurate, I’m doing this for the sake of simplicity.) So...
How to Brand Yourself in 5 Steps

How to Brand Yourself in 5 Steps

The greatest of people that have ever been in society, they were never versions of someone else. They were themselves. – Neil deGrasse Tyson Today, we’re going to talk a little about Twitter. More importantly though, we’re going to talk about the subject you are most educated in; yourself. Think about every marketer, every CEO and any other successful person. Other than the accomplishments they have achieved, how do you know them? Do you know them by the product they’ve created? Or by their name? I’m willing to wager that you know them by their name – then their product. It goes to show how important branding really is. Do you want to brand yourself? Or your product? You Want to be Branding Yourself! So this begs the question, how do you brand yourself? Well, the good news is that you have LOADS of options. You can brand yourself by blogging, social media and even posting your face on a billboard (many successful insurance agents do this.) But there’s one thing I really, really want to drive home. It’s not WHO you are that you’re branding. It’s the MESSAGE that you want to be branded for. Now, the steps below are pretty simple and generic. For those of you already on Twitter, you may or may not be doing these steps. But if you’re struggling to get followers or recognized. This may help. With that said, here are 5 simple steps to begin branding yourself: 1.) Create a Twitter Account (I’ll Assume You Already Have Facebook) Something I’d like to make clear here…make sure you are using your name...
Online Marketing Tips You Should Never Do

Online Marketing Tips You Should Never Do

Alright guys, look. Normally most of my articles are more about helping; a guide if you will. But today I felt it necessary to talk a little about what I’ve seen in the marketing world and what I disagree with. Some look for Online Marketing Tips, but to be honest, the tips are complete and utter garbage. The reason I feel it’s important to talk about, is because now that I’ve been doing this long enough and talking to the right people. I’ve started to see what so many marketers are doing wrong. So, instead of trying to offer a little nugget of information, I figured it may be more beneficial to list a few things that marketers should never do and why. 5 Things You Should NEVER Do as an Internet Marketer 1.) Blindly Post Offers on Facebook Groups and Other Social Network Sites All too often, I see newcomers to the marketing world post offers with “catchy” headlines followed by an affiliate link to multiple Facebook groups. Seriously, stop. If all it took to be successful in the IM World was to throw shit at a wall and hope something sticks, we’d all be filthy rich. This just doesn’t work. It never has, and never will. Sure, there may be some of you who could argue. I’m sure some of you have possibly made a sale or two this way, but chances are…that’s the only sale you’ve made from that particular person. Marketing isn’t about selling a product to a consumer, it’s about building a relationship to maintain a following of consistent buyers. Blindly throwing products and offers to people is the last thing you want to...
How Keurig Gave Me Marketing Concepts for Internet Marketing…

How Keurig Gave Me Marketing Concepts for Internet Marketing…

So there’s a Keurig coffee maching that came out that’s a newer model. The price tag on it is $200+ (depending on where you get it). I am now a proud owner of a Keurig. But this isn’t about buying a coffee machine… It’s about marketing concepts for internet marketing… You see, ever since the Keurig machines have come out, I thought they were cool. But I could never justify buying one. It wasn’t because they were too expensive. Or because I didn’t want one. It was because I drink WAY too much coffee and I’d end up spending easily 40-50 bucks a week on their coffee packs. To me, it doesn’t matter how much money I make. I don’t like the idea of wasting money. So now we fast forward to my bachelor party. I ended up getting all of my groomsmen specific gifts to our friendship. One of those gifts was a Keurig. Symbolizing the late nights at a local restaurant we spent together drinking coffee. He was very happy with the gift and told me he had wanted one for ages. I told him that I could never get one for the reasons I mentioned above. He then told me that Keurigs have adapters that are reusable that I can use my own coffee in them. WHAT!? I immediately had a NEED for a Keurig. So I went out and bought one. The moral of this story is that a $15 solution gave me a NEED to buy a $200 piece of equipment. And that my friends, is precisely why it is like Internet Marketing. Many people see a product that they KNOW can benefit them. But there’s...
