10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 2)

10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 2)

In part one of this article. I discussed 5 reasons why you’ll never be successful. They ranged from never implementing to implementing everything. You can check out the first part here. 6.) You Haven’t Set Goals in Writing One of my favorite quotes is, “Goals are dreams with a deadline.” And it’s 100% true. If you haven’t written down your goals. You’ll have absolutely no direction or time frame on getting it done. You may have “goals” in your mind of what you want to accomplish. “I want to make $1,000,000 a year.” “I want to lose weight.” “I want to find a better job.” But these aren’t goals. These are ideas. Even if you wrote those down. They still aren’t goals. Why? Because there is no deadline.  You need to establish a time frame on when you want to accomplish those goals. And to do that? You need to get specific. For example. Instead of writing down. “I want to lose weight.” You can write. “I want to lose 15 pounds.” But let’s press it further. You still need a deadline. “I want to lose 15 pounds by May 31st.” It’s getting better…but we need to get specific, remember? Besides, losing 15 pounds doesn’t really mean anything. So try something like, “I want to weigh 185lbs by May 31st at 9PM.” That right there is an example of how a goal should look. It’s specific, it has a time line and you’ll find writing goals down in this fashion is more effective than you can imagine. 7.) You’re Doing What Everyone Else is Doing I know you know the saying, “If...

10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 1)

Maybe this post will pull on a few heartstrings. Maybe it will offend a few. But maybe (and what I’m hoping) is it will enlighten and open the eyes to some of you who may be suffering from a scientific term I call “zerosuccessitis”. There’s no hiding the fact that 98% of ALL marketers online are struggling to make any money at all. It always will be this way. It’s a sad truth but it’s a truth all of us must face if you’re looking to make any sort of income or have any sort of success online. At the end of the day, the KEY to having success anywhere in your life begins with you. It begins with a mindset. While I could go on for days about how to achieve a positive mindset. The best way to take the proper steps to success; is to avoid taking the wrong ones. 10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful 1.) You Refuse to Sacrifice. Starting a business online requires you to sacrifice in the short term so you can benefit in the long term. I’ve lost count at how many deaf ears/eyes this falls on. Perhaps part of the blame can fall on the WSO’s and other making money online products; who spout how you can make $10,000 in your first 7-10 days without doing any heavy lifting. What it all boils down to though…is if you’re going to be successful. You need to devote and commit your time to build a business. How much you sacrifice is entirely up to you. The advice I’ve given my coaching students in...
The Step by Step Guide to Success

The Step by Step Guide to Success

We’ve all seen it, we’ve all wanted it. We’ve all asked for it (yes I’m talking to you). So prepare for a little tough love… Step by step guides to making money online are LIES. It doesn’t matter who you are. It’s the honest to God’s truth. I’m not saying you can’t follow steps to achieve success or seek out a mentor to coach you in strategies. But following a “step by step” guide 100% and to the letter will get you absolutely NOWHERE. Here’s why (and it’s a pretty simple truth): If there was a step by step guide to making money online that actually worked. EVERYONE WOULD BE RICH. The smart, the not-so-smart, mediocre and the extraordinary would all be financially independent and the world would be a very strange place. To understand why step by step guides don’t work is to look at them like this: Think of them as a hand drawn map that leads to a buried treasure. You follow the path, you climb the mountains and traverse the jungle. But chances are, when you get the to the end…the treasure has already been dug up by someone else reading the same map. On top of that? Everyone interprets things differently. That “tree” the maps says to take a left at, may look like a bush to you. Perhaps the tree was cut down recently? Perhaps the fork in the road has disappeared and been replaced with a new path. At the end of the day, AVERAGE people follow a step by step guide. The steps to success are as follows: Action – Connection...
Multitasking is Bad for You, Mkay?

Multitasking is Bad for You, Mkay?

Why is Multitasking bad for you? Let me start with a story that happened to me today. At 3:45AM, I grabbed my suitcase and laptop bag, kissed my beautiful wife, got into my car and made my way to the Moline, IL airport. I checked in, went through security, got to my gate and sat down. I pulled out my tablet, opened up my Kindle app and started reading another book a mentor of mine suggested entitled, “The One Thing” by Jay Papasan and Gary W. Keller. (I highly recommend it). In one of the chapters, it talks about how Multitasking is a lie. I won’t go into a review of this book. That’s not what this article is about. It’s what happened on the plane that really got me inspired to write this article. So I’m heading to Atlanta to make my connecting flight to Birmingham 30,000 feet above the ground. I’m sitting next to a guy. He’s neatly dressed. Suit and tie, you know the kind. All the while I’m reading The One Thing on my tablet. Half way through the flight, the guy asks me what I’m reading. So I explain to him the name of the book and what it’s about. I talk to him about the “lies” the book explains like multitasking (which is backed up by scientific research, I might add.) and how profound of an impact the book has already made on me. It was then that this guy started to get a little snarky. He starts rambling on about how self-help books don’t do anything to help because they tell you stuff...
10 Myths About Making Money Online (Part 2)

10 Myths About Making Money Online (Part 2)

In the last article, (10 Myths Part 1), I went over 5 myths about making money online. I discussed product creation. I talked a little about coaching. I even explained why “Push Button Software” is a crock. So to conclude this 2 part series, here are the last 5 myths I wanted to cover. Myth #6 – Solo Ads Are a Cheap Way to Get Traffic For those of you who aren’t familiar with what a solo ad is. Here’s a brief summary. You pay a solo ad vendor for “clicks”. These clicks represent the solo ad vendor’s subscribers “clicking ” on a link that they send to them. So essentially, if you were to pay let’s say $70 for 200 clicks. You’re asking the vendor to deliver your email/his message with your link to enough people where you’d receive 200 clicks. In other words, you are paying them $70 to have 200 eyes view your offer. It sounds pretty lucrative. You pay money, get people to see your offer and convert them into leads which convert them into sales. That’s actually how I started my marketing career nearing the beginning. I used solo ads all the time. Here’s Why It’s a Myth: Now, I never said Solo Ads WON’T work. They can and they do. In fact, I will still do a solo ad now and again to test an offer to get a general idea on how it may convert. But solo ads aren’t cheap. You may see solo ads for $10. You may see cheap click offers, etc. But at the end of the day, the quality...
