How to Increase Your Email Open Rates

How to Increase Your Email Open Rates

Before I begin, I’d like to point out that I think email is dying. Now, I think email will be around for years to come as it’s a great way to communicate with loved ones… But selling with it exclusively? I think it will be a fond memory in the coming years. In the meantime though, you may be wondering how to increase your email open rates. In other words, how the heck do you get more people to read your stuff? Well, for starters I should point out a solid average of email open rates in the Internet Marketing industry. 2-4% Yep, for every 100 people on your list, you’re going to get roughly 2-4 people opening your email. This isn’t including follow up sequences as those will typically have a higher open rate due to the nature of how they work. This may not seem like a lot, but in the email world, these are your averages. This is what you need to work with. So How Do You Increase Your Email Open Rates? For starters, I would suggest something most people would disagree with. Email your list everyday!  Here’s an analogy on why I think this is a good practice. When I was 17, I used to work at a gas station as a cashier. Every day, hundreds of people would come in and fill up their tank, grab a soda or snack and be on their merry way. You’d have your regulars. They’d come in every day, buy their signature product (a certain brand of soda, cigarettes, etc.) and leave. But there were those days when...
Take Control Over Your Traffic

Take Control Over Your Traffic

“Traffic.” “Getting Traffic.” “How to Get More Traffic?” These are terms and phrases we all know too well. Any marketer will tell you that Traffic is the life blood of your business. But more importantly… “How to get traffic that converts?” Is the most important sought out question you need to be asking. – Some people have found success in Solo Ads. (I personally think they are a rip off, though.) – Some have found success in Banner Ads. (I’ve never touched them myself.) – Some make money by monetizing their Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and Google+ profiles. – While others find a great amount of success with CPV marketing. (Cost Per View). So the question remains…how to get traffic that converts? Well get ready for a little tip. It doesn’t matter what traffic source you’re using. What matters is what kind of control you have over that traffic. What does that mean? Let’s start by asking you a few questions. 1.) What is your cost per lead? I don’t mean how much you’re spending per click. I’m asking you how much you’re spending per subscriber to your list. 2.) What is your opt-in conversion percentage? If you sent 100 people to your offer, what are you averaging in terms of people giving you their email address? 3.) If you’ve made sales, what is your Cost Per Customer? In other words. How many leads (subscribers) does it take for you to get one customer? 4.) What is the primary source your traffic is coming from? For example, if it’s a solo ad. Where are these subscribers coming from? What lists...
How to Start an Online Business for Under $200

How to Start an Online Business for Under $200

Before I begin, I want to point out that I’m a heavy advocate of investing in your business. I’ve personally spent thousands of dollars investing in my business and have made thousands of dollars in return from it. But let’s be honest. Not all of us have the opportunity to spend that kind of money starting out. So if you’re not in the best financial situation; what do you do? Well, if you are able to afford $200 or less. I’ll tell you. I think it’s important that I establish a few things first. 1.) Don’t expect to make millions. All of the things you’ve read that promise a $20 solution to untold riches are lies. You can certainly make money online on a shoestring budget, but it will take a little time to establish the financial goals you want. 2.) Give it time. You’re going to need to invest some of your time. You’re going to have to be persistent. With that said… How to Start an Online Business for Under $200 – The Tools You Need (Please note: Some of these links are Affiliate links. I do make a little commission off of them. But these are the tools that I personally use and recommend. If you’d rather not “reward” me. You’re more than welcome to Google the names and get them. You’ll be paying the same price regardless.)\ 1.) You need a domain name. ($8-15 a Year) There are countless sites out there that allow you register a domain name. I personally use GoDaddy. Their prices are fair (between 8 – 15 bucks a year) and I’ve never used...
Why Giving Up is a Good Thing

Why Giving Up is a Good Thing

I may have only been doing Internet Marketing for roughly 2 years. But I can say something not many can. I Never Gave Up Here’s a pro tip: Internet Marketing is built around failure. What do I mean by this? Well, I’ve lost track of how many people I’ve talked to, mentored, had lunch with and befriended. Who just gave up too soon. They were so damn close to striking diamonds. But they decided it was just “too hard” or that they “weren’t getting results.” I’m here to tell you: STOP GIVING UP. For the love of freakin’ gosh. When you give up. That gives the next person a chance to succeed. Like me for example. I’m involved in an amazing affiliate program. In fact, it’s the highest grossing affiliate program I’ve ever been involved with. I’ve made thousands of dollars with little effort. (Yes, it took a little work. But it didn’t consume my soul.) By the way…there’s a reason I’m telling you this. This program works similar to other companies. You not only make commissions based on what YOU sell. But you also make commissions on what other people you sold sell. For example, allow me to conjure up a story. Meet Harry. (Yes I know that’s the comic book guy from the Simpsons.) He’s an ordinary guy, looking to make a little money online. So he goes online, starts to look at ways to make money. Comes across one of my ads. Clicks it and decides to buy the entry level product for $49. Harry’s happy because he feels he has a shot at making money....

But the most profound books I’ve begun reading? Are on copywriting. Now before I go any further. I’m not talking about “copyrighting”. Which is a legal term for business to allow others to distribute their content/products. I’m talking about copywriting. The art of writing copy. If you’ve read a sales letter and bought something from it. It was a result of copywriting. If you were at the local store and saw a magazine with a headline that made you pick it up and flip to that page. That was a result of copywriting. Copywriting is one of the most (if not the most) important tool in your marketing arsenal. When you learn how to write good copy, you can literally print your own money. Why is it so important?
