Why Giving Up is a Good Thing

Why Giving Up is a Good Thing

I may have only been doing Internet Marketing for roughly 2 years. But I can say something not many can. I Never Gave Up Here’s a pro tip: Internet Marketing is built around failure. What do I mean by this? Well, I’ve lost track of how many people I’ve talked to, mentored, had lunch with and befriended. Who just gave up too soon. They were so damn close to striking diamonds. But they decided it was just “too hard” or that they “weren’t getting results.” I’m here to tell you: STOP GIVING UP. For the love of freakin’ gosh. When you give up. That gives the next person a chance to succeed. Like me for example. I’m involved in an amazing affiliate program. In fact, it’s the highest grossing affiliate program I’ve ever been involved with. I’ve made thousands of dollars with little effort. (Yes, it took a little work. But it didn’t consume my soul.) By the way…there’s a reason I’m telling you this. This program works similar to other companies. You not only make commissions based on what YOU sell. But you also make commissions on what other people you sold sell. For example, allow me to conjure up a story. Meet Harry. (Yes I know that’s the comic book guy from the Simpsons.) He’s an ordinary guy, looking to make a little money online. So he goes online, starts to look at ways to make money. Comes across one of my ads. Clicks it and decides to buy the entry level product for $49. Harry’s happy because he feels he has a shot at making money....
3 Warning Signs You’re Marketing Wrong

3 Warning Signs You’re Marketing Wrong

You’ve been going at this for months, maybe even years but haven’t been able to make any headway. Don’t worry. You’re not alone. There are countless people struggling with the same marketing woes as you are. In fact, it’s easy to feel like you’re not making any progress but it’s even harder to see why. I am here to tell you that there are warnings you need to be aware of. If any of these apply to you. Change them. I guarantee if you do. You’ll start picking up the pieces to building a successful business. WARNING 1: No One’s Engaging With You. If you’re emailing your customers and prospects and trying to get feedback or any other form of communication but getting nothing in return. There’s a reason. There’s always a reason. Chances are you’re not creating value or information that is engaging to your audience. The best way to offer value and get your customers to engage with you is to understand who you’re audience is. Who are you marketing to? What do they want to achieve? What do they want from you? You are probably thinking, “How do I know that if they don’t engage with me?” That’s where you need to get creative. The best way to start writing to your perfect audience is to create an avatar. There are many guides out there on the internet that can help you get started. It just takes a little time to write one up and you’ll find all of your messages and information will be written for THAT audience. WARNING 2: You’re Struggling to Make Sales....
10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 2)

10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 2)

In part one of this article. I discussed 5 reasons why you’ll never be successful. They ranged from never implementing to implementing everything. You can check out the first part here. 6.) You Haven’t Set Goals in Writing One of my favorite quotes is, “Goals are dreams with a deadline.” And it’s 100% true. If you haven’t written down your goals. You’ll have absolutely no direction or time frame on getting it done. You may have “goals” in your mind of what you want to accomplish. “I want to make $1,000,000 a year.” “I want to lose weight.” “I want to find a better job.” But these aren’t goals. These are ideas. Even if you wrote those down. They still aren’t goals. Why? Because there is no deadline.  You need to establish a time frame on when you want to accomplish those goals. And to do that? You need to get specific. For example. Instead of writing down. “I want to lose weight.” You can write. “I want to lose 15 pounds.” But let’s press it further. You still need a deadline. “I want to lose 15 pounds by May 31st.” It’s getting better…but we need to get specific, remember? Besides, losing 15 pounds doesn’t really mean anything. So try something like, “I want to weigh 185lbs by May 31st at 9PM.” That right there is an example of how a goal should look. It’s specific, it has a time line and you’ll find writing goals down in this fashion is more effective than you can imagine. 7.) You’re Doing What Everyone Else is Doing I know you know the saying, “If...
10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 1)

10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful (Part 1)

Maybe this post will pull on a few heartstrings. Maybe it will offend a few. But maybe (and what I’m hoping) is it will enlighten and open the eyes to some of you who may be suffering from a scientific term I call “zerosuccessitis”. There’s no hiding the fact that 98% of ALL marketers online are struggling to make any money at all. It always will be this way. It’s a sad truth but it’s a truth all of us must face if you’re looking to make any sort of income or have any sort of success online. At the end of the day, the KEY to having success anywhere in your life begins with you. It begins with a mindset. While I could go on for days about how to achieve a positive mindset. The best way to take the proper steps to success; is to avoid taking the wrong ones. 10 Reasons Why You’re Never Going to Be Successful 1.) You Refuse to Sacrifice. Starting a business online requires you to sacrifice in the short term so you can benefit in the long term. I’ve lost count at how many deaf ears/eyes this falls on. Perhaps part of the blame can fall on the WSO’s and other making money online products; who spout how you can make $10,000 in your first 7-10 days without doing any heavy lifting. What it all boils down to though…is if you’re going to be successful. You need to devote and commit your time to build a business. How much you sacrifice is entirely up to you. The advice I’ve given my coaching students in...
The Step by Step Guide to Success

The Step by Step Guide to Success

We’ve all seen it, we’ve all wanted it. We’ve all asked for it (yes I’m talking to you). So prepare for a little tough love… Step by step guides to making money online are LIES. It doesn’t matter who you are. It’s the honest to God’s truth. I’m not saying you can’t follow steps to achieve success or seek out a mentor to coach you in strategies. But following a “step by step” guide 100% and to the letter will get you absolutely NOWHERE. Here’s why (and it’s a pretty simple truth): If there was a step by step guide to making money online that actually worked. EVERYONE WOULD BE RICH. The smart, the not-so-smart, mediocre and the extraordinary would all be financially independent and the world would be a very strange place. To understand why step by step guides don’t work is to look at them like this: Think of them as a hand drawn map that leads to a buried treasure. You follow the path, you climb the mountains and traverse the jungle. But chances are, when you get the to the end…the treasure has already been dug up by someone else reading the same map. On top of that? Everyone interprets things differently. That “tree” the maps says to take a left at, may look like a bush to you. Perhaps the tree was cut down recently? Perhaps the fork in the road has disappeared and been replaced with a new path. At the end of the day, AVERAGE people follow a step by step guide. The steps to success are as follows: Action – Connection...
Multitasking is Bad for You, Mkay?

Multitasking is Bad for You, Mkay?

Why is Multitasking bad for you? Let me start with a story that happened to me today. At 3:45AM, I grabbed my suitcase and laptop bag, kissed my beautiful wife, got into my car and made my way to the Moline, IL airport. I checked in, went through security, got to my gate and sat down. I pulled out my tablet, opened up my Kindle app and started reading another book a mentor of mine suggested entitled, “The One Thing” by Jay Papasan and Gary W. Keller. (I highly recommend it). In one of the chapters, it talks about how Multitasking is a lie. I won’t go into a review of this book. That’s not what this article is about. It’s what happened on the plane that really got me inspired to write this article. So I’m heading to Atlanta to make my connecting flight to Birmingham 30,000 feet above the ground. I’m sitting next to a guy. He’s neatly dressed. Suit and tie, you know the kind. All the while I’m reading The One Thing on my tablet. Half way through the flight, the guy asks me what I’m reading. So I explain to him the name of the book and what it’s about. I talk to him about the “lies” the book explains like multitasking (which is backed up by scientific research, I might add.) and how profound of an impact the book has already made on me. It was then that this guy started to get a little snarky. He starts rambling on about how self-help books don’t do anything to help because they tell you stuff...
