5 Things I Wished I Knew Starting Out In Internet Marketing

5 Things I Wished I Knew Starting Out In Internet Marketing

When I first got into internet marketing, I made a ton of mistakes (I still do). Unfortunately, there wasn’t anyone to really guide me. With that said, I want to offer a little insight.

1.) It Takes Work.

Let’s be honest here. Marketing takes work. Unfortunately, nearly every single marketing product, post or article tells you otherwise (the warrior forum is especially guilty of this.) Here’s the deal, guys. Making money online is easy, but there’s a little secret to it…and it’s called persistance. Listen, you could literally sell any product or offer out there if you consistently stay consistent. That may sound cliche, but that’s really all there is to it.

Don’t let WSO copy suck you in.

Which leads me to…

2.) If it sounds too good to be true…

It probably is. Look, when I first started in the marketing business, I got sucked in by the copy of too many products to count. I had spent hundreds of dollars on products because they promised me the world. Whether it was promising little to no work, or thousands of dollars a month in two weeks or less. I bought into it and was inevitably let down. Like an Alzheimer patient, though…I was left wondering what I was doing wrong.

This ties directly into number 1. Making money takes work. But the process is simple.

3.) Don’t overcomplicate things.

Internet marketing isn’t complicated. You can literally sum it into 4 steps.

– Find/Create a product.
– Drive traffic to that product.
– Have a process to follow up with your leads.
– Profit.

That’s all there is to it. Really.

== NOTE:
Even though these 4 steps sound easy enough, it can still be daunting on how/where to start. Everyone needs a product to sell and traffic to see it. If you’re really serious about making money online and would like to know what I’m doing to generate 10-25 leads a day. Contact me on Skype, my ID is: ctrl-alt-rage.
END NOTE ==

Getting caught up and focused on the details will inevitably get you stuck.

4.) Implement, Implement, Implement

If I had a nickle for how many people I’ve offered advice to (advice that has made me money) only to see them do the exact opposite… I’d be rich.

If you’ve ever asked a marketing professional for advice and you were fortunate enough to receive some…there’s a reason why they gave it to you.

They’ve been there and done that.

Look, I’m sure there are some shortcuts yet to be discovered. I’m sure there is a secret or two that people haven’t explored…but chances are whatever you’ve been thinking about? Has already been done.

Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. If someone gives you advice, act on it.

5.) Don’t get discouraged.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent so much time trying to come up with ways to make money and fell short.

This is all part of the process.

Face it, you’re going to fail before you succeed. It’s inevitable. Every single successful person has encountered failure. The only difference between them and you is that they didn’t give up. They persevered. They fell down 5 times and got back up 6.

When you truly make a decision. You will succeed, it will just take more time than you really want it to.

  1. Great article, staying away from the Warrior Forum is definitely step number 1. As stated in the article, finding something to sell and driving traffic are the only thing you ever need to worry about. Just stick to it, don’t start a project, spend money and don’t finish it, than repeat the process over and over always spending money and never making any.

    The tips in the article are simple and easy to follow, but people will think it’s to easy, that success or making money needs to be complicated.

    • Sometimes it is too easy. It’s all about following a proven method. When you break anything down into the simplest terms and definitions it can be relatively easy to follow a path to get results.

      Thanks for the comment man!
